TV Introduction I Video Search I Circulation I Bookings Scheduling I Store Items I Serial Items I Member Information I Accounting I Administration

The Titles window is where you enter/view/edit all your stores rentable items, such as a :
VHS Videos       VHS Video Player       DVDs
DVD Player       Playstation Games       Sony Playstation Console
Nintendo 64 Games       Nintendo 64 Console       Audio CDs
      Video CDs       Television       Computer

The Item tab is where you enter all the important information about the product that defines what it is, and how it is to be treated by the rest of the system. The compulsory information to enter is :
  • Barcode - so that each item (especially Videos/DVD's that you have more than one copy of) can be distinguished from one another
  • Title - the name of the product, whether that be a name of a movie/game, an LG DVD Player, JVC VCR, etc.
  • Item Type - defines what the item is (example shown above). This ties in to the Lookup Tables section
  • Loan Type - when the item is rented out, the system needs to know for how long, and therefore when to expect it back. This also ties in to the Lookup Tables section
  • Item Status - default to In when first entered
Optional information to enter is :
  • Physical Description - makes it easier to find if you know more about what you're looking for, the colour of the cover for example
  • Notes - a short write-up/comment about the movie/item
  • Filming Details - miscellaneous information about the movie; directors name, year it was made, date it came in to the shop, etc.
